Neck lift

Neck lift is a popular surgical procedure for people who have jowls or “turkey neck” appearance as a result of aging or weight changes. One of the main facial areas to show signs of aging is the neck, which is perceived by hanging skin, excess fat or band lines. Neck lift can be performed in conjunction with facelift, brow lift or liposuction of the neck.

Neck lift can be performed under general or local anesthesia. The surgery is carried out by making an incision either under the chin or behind the ears or both, depending on whether the purpose of the surgery is to tighten the skin, muscle(s) or both. The neck muscles will be tightened and the excess skin removed. The procedure might be combined with liposuction of the neck area to remove excess fat.

After surgery, there will be some degree of discomfort, bruising and swelling for a few days. A bandage dressing must be worn for a couple of days. Dr. Said will give you detailed instructions on how to best handle your recovery.

Neck lift is a relatively safe procedure, but like any surgical procedure it might be associated with possible side-effects. Some of the possible complications are bruising, swelling, numbness, skin tightness, infections, wound dehiscence, seromas, hematoma, asymmetry and unfavorable scarring.

Results may last for several years. The procedure will return your neck to a desired tighter shape, and provide a better defined jawline and a more refined look.
